I am hugging my Woody Woodpecker (el pájaro carpintero in Argentina) doll with all my strength. I loved it and it came everywhere with me. I loved it because I watched it on TV. My other favorite toy WAS THE TV. I watched so much TV, sooooo many American cartoons and TV series. On Saturdays, I watched a show called Funcion Privada, on Argentine public TV, where two older guys presented movies sipping their whisky glasses. My parents were surprisingly flexible with TV. I went to a quite strict private English school from 8 AM to 5 PM, with a lunch break between 12-13 in which I watched my favorite series (A-Team, Wonder Woman, The Bionic Woman, Zorro, Knight Rider, V, Mork and Mindy, Chips, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, whatever was running), Photo circa 1980-83.
